This tray plays a small trick: its surface is broken into pieces, cracks running through the form as if it had taken a knock. The largest crack is pulled shut by a row of clips shaped like staples, a fix that looks deliberate rather than accidental. The rest of the tray stays flat and square, so the damage is all in the detail.
It belongs wherever keys and coins pile up without a home — by the front door, on a hallway shelf, next to a bowl of loose change. Drop things in as you pass and the cracked surface holds them just as well as a plain one would, with a bit more character to look at while you're rummaging for your keys.
It measures about 20 by 20 centimetres, and 2.8 centimetres deep, enough room for the everyday things you empty from your pockets. It is printed to order in our Cyprus studio and shipped worldwide.
